Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Pistol squats are a massive step up from everything done before on this program. I really struggle with them.

Bulgarian split squats would be a better option.

I tried to add an image but failed... basicaly, a lunge but with your back foot on a chair.

I had to hold on to a chair to do the pistol squats today and I felt the stretch more in my calf and hamstring than my gluts. Am I doing them wrong?

I've done Bulgarian Split Squats when I've not been able to do ordinary lunges and I agree that they would have been a good variation.

Not sure about your question, Elf.

Pistol squats!!!! Arrgghh! I can't even do 1 proper real one, so did sort of half ones :(

The 'plank' was a bit weird too.

The crouching planks were nasty. Tough on the arms, not so much on the core.

I've failed good and proper! I've been struggling with foot issues so have been taking it easy for a week or so to recover before I start the next training block. well done to all those who are still going!

Another fail :(

I did a pretty tough interval session today, and trying to do those planks afterwards was almost impossible! Such a shame because I thought those rotational planks looked quite useful, but I also found the rotation hurt my shoulders a bit but that might have been because I was tired and my hips were dropping.

Did narrow squats and sumo squats - pistol squats are just too difficult to throw in randomly like that!

I quite liked the rotating planks. The reaching planks, in contrast, were as loathsome as the crouching ones. My hands and feet kept slipping. Still can't get very low on pistol squats either.

Yes reaching planks loathsome indeed. I cheated by putting my feet against the skirting board to stop them slipping.

I have no interest in pistol squats, they are just too hard and I can't even do one properly, I did kickback squats instead.

I cheated too, had my hands against the fire surround and would have wedged my feet too if there had been something suitable. I think that my pistol squats are more like one legged squats.
