Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

One (very good) race included a voucher for welding services . . . . It was such a great race and so reasonable that nothing was plenty even for twice the entry fee. The race was a victim of the fungal disease wiping out larch forests in Wales.

Ah yes, a towel. I've had a few of those too, large and small, very handy.

Bedford 20? to clash with Oakley? or are you saying Oakley won't be doing a hoodie this year?

I'd be happy with a vest - I have too many T's, cotton T - if small enough (yes even I find race cotton Ts enormous) okay.

mug, glass, free photo, pen? there must be something different...

Rosehip, it seems there is a New Bedford 20 on the 25th March (Bedford20.com) from Priory Country Park, a week after the Oakley 20

From the website it seems to be a company called Dirt Running. Supported by EA and Bedford Borough Council, amongst others!!

It's the week after!

I have "bookmarked" it though, since I haven't entered Oakley yet and it's flatter :)

The last race I did gave us water bottles, already filled with good old tap water, which was a neat way of having drinks available and getting us to pick up our 'present'. I never use this sort of water bottle but OH was happy to take it off my hands and into his bike bottle cage.

The best race memento I've ever had (and many of my female clubmates agree, I haven't asked the men) was a fleecy buff-type piece of neck wear. The fleecy bit was attached to a cotton jersey 'skirt' which covered the top of your shoulders. Admittedly this was a winter race and by chance we had a really hard winter that year (2010? 2011?) so these kind-of buffs got a lot of use, not just for running but dog walking. Since then we've had quite mild winters so I haven't worn it for ages. It was good though!

Can I kind of hijack this thread to ask AL (or anyone else) if AWD printed their club vests for them or did your club get them via a supplier? We are having trouble sourcing properly women-shaped kit for our club!

Daisy, can I suggest Appin Sports to you? I was very impressed with my recent shirt from the Bella 10K. Good material (Fast-wick) and they had done something a bit different with the shirt itself.

Without initially realising it, I found myself chatting briefly with the man on the shirt at the end - 84 years old now (4:13 miler in his day).

Loads of testimonials on the site (including from that race; and another from someone I actually know (Spikey, Linlithgow 10K RD and Falkirk parkrun ED). One (Stubbington) specifically mentioned women's fit shirts. Only problem might be a club order being too small (unless you are in a massive club, of course :-)).

Thanks Dvorak, I'll have a look at them! Our orders are usually in batches of 500 made up of various sizes, so while not massive, probably big enough for some firms. Inevitably with 400+ members we come in all shapes and sizes and we're never going to please everyone, but the last few have been universally disliked by our women runners.

My club holds a 20 Mile race in March and we have done a Tech T-Shirt with a sensible choice of size...
