Obviously I'm unusual, from early May to late September I'm in a vest for pretty much every training run.

I priced up printed buffs as it happens, they were more expensive than shirts, ditto towels once they had been embroidered, medals are for me a total waste of money, if they are being handed out I always decline.

I have a vest which sees about 3-4 outings a year average, usually on holiday. So getting such at race would be of near zero use to me.

You do live in the Frozen North Though D
I wear vests a lot but it’s more difficult to find a vest with a comfortable and flattering cut I think compared to a tshirt. I’d prefer a long sleeved tee too for something different. But you could give vests a go and get feedback? People like something new! Mugs? I like getting mugs.

I looked at the link, I like the look of the women’s vest! I’d be happy with something like that as a race memento. The other good thing about vests is you can layer them as well.

I got a women's vest at the Glen Ogle ultra last year. It's really nice and a good ladies specific fit. I wore it loads last summer.

For further market research, do people not wear a vest outside of a race even when it is warm enough because. They don't like bare shoulders. Habit, not something they've considered. Don't own any.
What about a club vest ? On days when it is hot even in a club vest would you still wear a T-Shirt if not in a race?

If I've got a vest that's a shape I like (and I like the shape of the one you linked to), I'll wear it on its own in the summer or over a long sleeved top in winter.
I'm surprised all those hardcore it's-never-too-cold-for-shorts blokes in these parts aren't shouting out for a vest.

it's certainly too cold for shorts at the mo'. And vests for that matter!
I'd say that it depends on your target audience a little bit. I think a lot of people feel self conscious wearing a vest. It seems like your veteran club runners (ahem) are less likely to be bothered about what they look like. I like the idea of a vest but in all honest I'd think that I'd be in the minority of the average mass participation event in saying that.
Now, if I looked like the guy in your link I'm sure I'd want to wear a vest ALL the time!!

I wear vests throughout the warmer months and the AWD ladies' cut ones are very nice - nice length and fit well, my club one is the same make. I also wear my club vest in winter over a long sleeve top for x-c if it's really cold. There must be some printed buff suppliers that are cheaper - a recent trail race I did gave them out and the entry fee was only £9? Like a few I'm way less bothered about medals - though I have yet to turn one down - but most local runners I know are obsessed with the things.
