Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The world is a poorer place today. R.I.P. to a proper modern musical genius. I'll have his music on a continual loop for a few days at least.

In 1974, a friend was selling some albums at school to make money for 'stuff'. After parting with a hard-earned £1, and turning down Status Quo for an extra 30p, I found myself the proud owner of battered and scratched copies of the Ziggy Stardust & Aladdin Sane LPs. Both of which I still have today. It was the best £1 I've ever spent. Such magic. The man has gone, but he lives on through his great music :)

Woke up not long ago turned on the news and there it was. One of my absolute favourite performers there'll not be another like him. R.I.P. But his music will go on

Bonners, I was at that same concert at Milton keynes. I can vividly remember the goosebumps and emotions as Bowie started playing Space Oddity. I've never been affected in the same way at the start of any other concert!

A sad day and the world is a poorer place for his loss. But what a legacy he left and he finished with a genuinely remarkable LP.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
