Quick idiot guide for Strava?

I usually just upload my runs via my garmin to fetch - is it easy to use ~~strava~~ as well? I haven't got a clue. I'm about to go for a run, so will try to ~~strava~~ it but I'm a bit clueless.

For me at least, a lot greater percentage of my non-virtual friends are on there. It's not as good though, nothing beats the Fetch analysis of a training effort.
