Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nice splits, Linds! Great last two miles... did it help running with Billy?

Three consecutive days running, too. Quite a lot. How did the last two miles feel?

That's to be expected. He's probably had a lot more sleep than you.... (besides being YOUR SON!) xxx

compartmental. Xc is always quality, such an excercise in management to keep the effort going til the end.

LindsD. Nice splits, always nice to have that level of consistency in a race.

My race was a bit different, Borders League and a personal worst on that course, but plenty of positives. Knew my bad back would start to seize, so went out hard and in the middle of a 5.4 mile race managed my fastest 5k for almost two years. Also, although I slowed in the last two miles, tried to relax as much as possible and keep going through the pain and maintain my form; so actually pleased with the splits:

6:24 6:43 7:06 7:10 7:15

Then the last .4 in 6:58 pace, helped by racing a girl from the other training group on Tuesday track, personal pride kicked in๐Ÿ˜€

It's interesting that races aren't always quality and when they are there are other reasons for the quality sticker besides PBs or otherwise great results.

You point out some of those other reasons above, bonnets, re compartmental and Linds - and perfectly explain your own.

It's so satisfying to get real positives - all of your own making - from good sessions and races.

Are you 'doing' anything about your back, bonners? It sounds bad.

Just plenty of exercises from the physio, rock tape, rolling and continuing the core work. Unfortunately is a historic injury and with doing two jobs at the moment, including a lot of van driving I'm struggling a bit. But I'm ever hopeful it will all come good eventually

About This Thread

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
