Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ahh right, my mistake, I thought you were a trails only person. We have one or the other here, if I stick on the coast it is razor flat, any slightly inland run is automatically very hilly!

We live in a valley. It’s 200 feet in half or mile or so whichever way you want to get out. Historically I did little road running, but I’ve done more in the last few years than before (and a hell of a lot less fellrunning). First session with club for a good while tonight and really enjoyed it

Good session DT

My quaity was somewhat less than that!
2 x 10 mins “tempo” at upper end of aerobic. Better than last weeks attempt but a min/mile slower than it used to be :(
Slowly remembering how it feels to run hard and re-learning how to embrace it and keep going

5 miles on road last night. Our club Wednesday social run started off as a recovery outing for those who’d done a quality session on Tuesday. First time I’d done the route since 2007 and it was nice to re-start an old tradition

I smashed my intervals last night with 4x 2mins, 6x 1min and 8x 30secs getting progressive quicker. First time in a while I felt in control of my pace. I've blogged it in detail if anyone is interested

Just had a meander over to your blog. That is quite a tough session, one to bookmark I think.

Another "did what I set out to do" run to declare. I selected a route that had several shortcut options but did the whole distance (a bit over 11 miles) including a significant long uphill.

I’ve started this year to incorporate interval sessions. Maybe not every week, but maybe every second week or so. I’ve mostly done something 1000km x 4 or something like that. In about 3:50/km times. Usually on a track.
I’m not trying to be a fast 5k runner or shorter even shorter distances. But rather faster at 10k, HM and 42195.

Will I benefit from shorter intervals, like 30 sec, or some kind of “stair” interval session for instance.
Or is that mostly for the shorter distances?
I’m a little scared of really fast and short intervals and that they will be to prone to injuries.
What’s your take on this?

A place to record your quality sessions. Once a week for a kick off, if you can. Doesn't have to be running but for once I'm asking for exercise related stuff.

It has to be a session that you feel ticks all the boxes, something you really commit to, do what you mean to do. No half hearted stuff, but no plod through it either. In the words of my elite sprinter friends, you 'execute'. (Not really my friends it's just what they say on the telly.) Not necessarily hard, a...
