Convinced there is/was a thread but the search engine only shows 50 of 83 so I can't get to it.
Anyway, as long as the heavens don't empty for the next two weeks, much like last year, then I'll be doing this. From the race listing it looks like a fair few people from here will be attending to. I've heard the terrain/route isn't too bad? Or was that just someone selling me on the idea, knowing when I hit the hills it'll be too late to back out?

It's a fantastic race. Very flat, and you get to see forest and ponies.

I'm looking forward to this.
Was most disappointed that they had to cancel last year.

Always a great race, one of my favourites. I was also very disappointed last year when the race was cancelled due to flooding etc. It's always very hot, so make sure you are hydrated before the start, and make use of the water stations.

PB'd 10km yesterday, so wondering what I can do here in two weeks. Have been assuming all year that the Great South would be my PB attempt, but if this is in the same ball-park as GS in terms of the absence of hills, maybe I can do a 1:25:00 here.

Race number arrived yesterday, along with a letter stating twice about how hot it can get!
It also mentions traffic issues, have people been stuck in the past, or are they just covering themselves?

I've received my race pack and see that the chip is attached to the back of the number. If it's going to be as hot as today, then don't expect a pb. It is classified as a flat course, but there are some long, gradual slopes which can be tough in the heat. The ground underfoot also gets very hot, so don't wear thin soled racing flats.

I did it once. It was hot, funnily enough. I do remember some slight hilliness as hillstrider mentions.
The traffic was a bit problematic going through Lyndhurst.
I'll be there on Sunday and will be more than happy with under 2 hours. I think it's going to be a scorcher so remember it might be hot
