Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

.. and have now blogged my next 2. Love, ire+song by Frank Turner and Album by Girls. Preferred the Turner album out of the two but neither will be near my favourites of the challenge. Should get to 2017 in the next week or so with 7 albums to go.

I started on the 80's at the weekend with my first listen of Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables. I felt a bit of a fraud listening to my first Dead Kennedys album in my slippers whilst drinking tea, so I'd best give another listen when I've got my Doc Martens on!

My so had bought a pair of slippers (some years ago now when he was diagnosed with type2 diabetes) and bought Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables to make himself feel better

I remember FFFRV getting a one-star review in Sounds from, I think, Dave McCullough, as Everything That Was Wrong With "Punk".

Finally blogged Closer for Joy Division which means I have officially started the 80s! I've also sorted most of the rest of my choices for the decade as well so I'll be picking up the pace again. I'm finding it a bit harder because I already have a fair bit of music from this time onwards so it's more challenging to find something that's newish that I want to try.

Tin Drum has arrived! First impressions are that it's *very* eighties, especially the synth-drum things. Also I can't decide if I like David Sylvian's way of singing or if it's actually affected nonsense. I'll give it a few more listens to make my mind up.

Highly affected but brilliant. Check out the Georgio Moroder (sp!!) produced Quiet life. Pure 80's!
