Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

I've added Pontypridd to the race finder - a few of us from Lliswerry Runners are hoping to make it over for the first one! There should be a few more starting up in South Wales soon, we seem to be having a parkrun explosion at the moment!

A few updates to the header, thanks for the contributions.

A quick note about one aspect of this week's parkrun newsletter which said:
=================================
The National PB Challenge is back:
- Run at your local parkrun anywhere in the country this Saturday (the 28th of September), break your PB and you could win a pair of boost shoes! The winner will be picked at random from everyone who PB's on the day.
- The parkrun with the biggest collective percentage of PBs set this coming Saturday will win a ‘boost’ for their park! adidas will give the winning parkrun a treat, including some special guests.
=================================

I had it clarified that to be eligible for that first prize draw you have to run at an event that you've run at before. So all the people running at a new event to them, like an inaugural, are ineligible. Similarly, the new events won't be able to compete in the second one, as their won't be any PBs...even if someone runs an all-time personal PB, it's only if you run a PB on a course that you've set a time on before. Though I couldn't see any of that in the newsletter, hence why further clarification was needed :-)

About This Thread

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
