Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I remembered the Stephen West Lost & Found (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lost--found) that I knitted some time ago, and lost motivation to sew all the ends in. As the yarn's worsted weight I don't need fine motor skills to sew the ends in, so I've found something that I can work on. Advantage of getting it done is that the arms are wide enough to get a stookie through.

I like a bit of Stephen West! Only made one shawl but it’s one if my favourite things I’ve made!

Tried my sweater on today, it actually fits! Fingers crossed I don’t run out of yarn!

Want to knit a “pussycat hat” for friends daughter

It says use a long tail cast on which I have not done before
It’s a rib the knit hat so what does the long tail cast on do?
Do I have to use it?

It's unlikely to be critical to the final result, Pix, and your usual cast on method will probably be fine provided you can make the cast-on edge even but not too tight.

I think for a rubbed hat it will just give you a stretchy cast on, if you have other cast ins that you would rather use go with what makes you happy, you can always try again if you think it’s unsuitable! My go to cast on happens to be a type of long tail cast on, and I started my city and guilds in hand knitting (many years ago but didn’t actually finish) so I had to learn and knit samples for things like that!

Thanks
I figure that it’s a one size fits all pattern and daughter is 7-8 so if it’s less stretchy and smaller that’s not an issue!

Blimey V’rap this hat is a drama. I did 4 rows last night and each time I ended up with the wrong amount of stitches . I came very close to launching it 😂 lord only knows what it’ll look like.

Maybe wait for my next one, Beanie. Acres of single rib followed by braids :)

No I can’t give in even if it ends up as a gear stick cover 😂
