Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Jobs you still haven't managed to (and probably won't ever) get round to despite lockdown

In this lockdown / isolation period, are there jobs that you still haven't got round to doing?
Yes, the lawn is cut, the hedge is trimmed, the home office is tidied.

But, eg for me,
- cleaning the oven is still not done
- repainting the water stained home office ceiling - even though we replaced the leaky shower above it 3 years ago
- washing, or god forbid, polishing the cars (seems the neighbours favourite activity)

Asked why we didn't clean our car by our eldest child.
We told her that it was 20 years old and held together by that dirt.
But the police cannot read the number plate she replied.
Yes, that's how they know we are local, was our retort ;-)

Yep. There's a giant Russian novel on the TBR pile (in translation obvs). It's now or never. Looks like 'never' it is then.

Cleaning the inside of the windows (apart from the French doors out to the garden from the kitchen, because we look through those a lot, the sun shines through them most of the day and there are always smears at dog nose height.) The rest...I honestly can't remember when they were done.

Washing the stone, white-painted window sills on the front of the house. Actually, now I've said that, I think that'll be my 'worthwhile job' for tomorrow. Maybe.

Hoovering the stairs. I cleaned the car instead as that was outdoors and more fun :)

And dealing with the big pile of paperwork which needs sorting. I’m sure it can wait a few years
