Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Is it just me or are there more adverts on Fetch

I got the ad for sexy Russian brides on my phone last night, thought I was seeing things.

I can confirm I have not googled this or similar topics.

No idea what you are all on about, I turned off tracking in IE ages ago and haven't seen a single ad on here.

"Internet Explorer blocks any third–party content from sites on the list, and limits the info that those third–party sites can collect about you."

windows.microsoft.com

works on most websites (parkrun no longer shows me bras, the Mirror no longer shows me single bikers...)

If I could get something to sort out bloomin FB ads I would but the only thing I found was for Firefox and I refuse to have a different browser for every third site I want to visit.

I've had Adidas, Santander, The Times, Hotel Breaks (we've just been arranging our summer holiday), and Saga (holidays, not Noren).

I've had Rangemaster followed immeidately by an advert for credit cards for people with poor credit (must be hedging their bets as I reckon if you are considering buying the former you don't need the latter!) Then I got one for ebay .. so presumably if I do buy the rangemaster and put it on the card for people who can't get a card from anyone else I can flog it on ebay when I can't meet the repayments....

Who says advertising doesn't work... ;-)

What annoys me in general with these types of ads, not just the ones on Fetch (and as was mentioned earlier) is that I buy a product and then the ads just keep coming about the same product over and over...when I've just bought the item, so don't need any more!!

I just had an advert for Fetch, on Fetch. Apparently it is a great free website for runners, bikers and swimmers to log your training and to talk to people on forums about stuff like running and cake! I'm in, it sounds fab!

In the Google Ad spots?

About This Thread

Maintained by Son of a Pronator Man
Fetch says: "I don't choose the ads, I just supply the holes, and the people who pay my salary and supply a server choose what they want to put in them. The change was a surprise to me too, and I've asked for some clarification on the thinking.

If you get any particularly dodgy ones, e.g. Russian mail order brides, or ones that break the user experience, it would be helpful for me to see some screenshots (ian AT fetcheveryone.com), and I'll feed those back."

And: "I've just clicked the little blue triangle in the top right corner of the ad, and looked at the opt-out options. On the page it took me to (after it took a while to think about it), there was a button called something like 'Choose All Companies' - I clicked that, and thus far, it seems to have opted me out of all the ads."
