Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Is it just me or are there more adverts on Fetch

Well, is it just me, or are there ? Or are they just more obtrusive than before? I know these lovely people meet the costs of keeping this wonderful website alive but there do seem to be a lot of them

I booked my hotel for Loch Ness marathon today and I keep seeing hotels in Inverness on the top banner.

Yes. There are more ads. A little bit irritating actually.

Apparently I can see Rio 2 at the Showcase this weekend.

I would rather have the hotel in Loch Ness.

I don't like them, but I suppose they generate income for the site. Personally I'd rather pay a subscription

I just started noticing them this afternoon - popups for jobsites, flight sites & whatever else I'd looked at over the last few weeks.

Don't want to complain but they're a bit distracting flickering away at the top of the screen ...

About This Thread

Maintained by Son of a Pronator Man
Fetch says: "I don't choose the ads, I just supply the holes, and the people who pay my salary and supply a server choose what they want to put in them. The change was a surprise to me too, and I've asked for some clarification on the thinking.

If you get any particularly dodgy ones, e.g. Russian mail order brides, or ones that break the user experience, it would be helpful for me to see some screenshots (ian AT fetcheveryone.com), and I'll feed those back."

And: "I've just clicked the little blue triangle in the top right corner of the ad, and looked at the opt-out options. On the page it took me to (after it took a while to think about it), there was a button called something like 'Choose All Companies' - I clicked that, and thus far, it seems to have opted me out of all the ads."
