That's quick Gobi - well done
I popped out this morning for 5.2m in what felt like a gentle 35mins. I had quite a lot on my mind, so it seemed to make me run faster. It has made me almost want troubles come marathon day

When are you next racing 5k, Gobi? Coming along to BPTT anniversary on Sat?
And what are you looking at for the Cardiff marathon? sub-2:50?

Forest Runner
I had a choice today: treadmill or track after I finished my shift at the gym or go home first and do 5 miles on the road. As I fancied a relaxing afternoon in the sauna and jacuzzis, I decided it would have to be a straight choice between the treadmill and the track. I didn't really fancy 20 laps of the track as I thought it would be boring, so I chose the treadmill. BORING: first time I've run on the treadmill for ages and running at a constant 12kph (which should feel easy), my heart rate was several beats per minute higher than running at the same pace on the road. There's such a strong temptation to give in running on the treadmill.
After I finished the run, I had a quick go at one of the rowing distances for the gym challenge - the shortest one, of course. 500m in 1:31.4 is several seconds slower than I used to be able to do it. I then relaxed for 2 hours in the sauna and spa area.

Good work Gobi, well done. That's fast
FR, the treadie would do my head in but I'll perhaps be doing some in the winter...

cheers Ian, proves the training is working
FR, stride is shorter on the mill so you will work slightly harder

Strangely my 5K PB on the treadmill is 31 secs faster than outside. Having said that, the outside PB was BPTT, and some speculate that it's a slow 5K. And I am way fitter now than I was when I did that. Going flat out on the treaddie for 5K seems a bit dull these days

2 hours 45 on the treadmill yesterday (last long run on the mill, YESSSSSSSS the great outdoors here we come!), enforced rest day today because the gym was closed for a state-wide strike. Not sure how much running I'll be doing for the next few days though, bad family news to deal with, not to mention trying to move me, and all my and my hubby's possessions to a different continent at short notice all by myself
