Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A nice easy pre dawn Christmas morning run of 5+ miles. Hardly a car in sight and managed to run around a normally very busy roundabout in the middle of the road.

Just over 15 miles for me. Amazing how many people are out driving along at 40-50mph on icy roads at 6:30-6:45am especially. Not a lot of difference in traffic from usual and everytime I stepped onto a road, a car came towards me. Either there's some secret place that only single men in a car go to work at on Xmas day or the entire male population of this town are separated from a woman who has children by them.

Roads and paths around where I live are 90% ice . Ran along most of the main roads with a few side roads, one of which was pure ice everywhere. The fact that it has an underpass as well that is sloped really helps. Had to hold on to the railing just to be on the safe side.
That said, made it safely around with some shuffling and nearly slipped over whilst stopping my Garmin at my gate!

Went to the town moor, did 2 laps of the marathon route out on the frozen tundra. Just a few reindeer and wolves in the distance.

No, there was a few runners & dog people!
Cold ears, but twas good. The swan lake is almost totally frozen, not much space for the swans and coots.
Didn't trust my trainers on the ice so wore workboots. Heavy but wasn't going for speed anyway. Warm & happy now :-)
