Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

10.7 miles lost in thought, as I explored beach, paths and trail close to the Mersey estuary on an incoming tide.

Just got back, finished 5th and saw 8 young 'uns fail, they really don't make (some) soldiers like they used to!

What's the boot-wearing % these days Q Mac? I was just leaving the Army when a (possibly manufactured) hoo-ha was brewing about guys wearing running shoes instead of boots because of the damage boots would do to their poor ickle feet - unheard of to do a BFT in anything less than boots!

Well said Frobestar, wouldn't want the poor little darlings don't strain themselves too much. Think it was phased out 93,94 if I remember rightly. Actually turned the clock back and did one in boots last year. A stripey mate of mine had failed his PFT1 (old BPFA/BFT - happy days) and I went running with him. On the day of the run, I was tackled by the Regtl 2 Ice Cream ten minuted before so when got to gym (in uniform) they had already started. Command decision, took shirt and stable belt off and ran round in boots/combats - everyone thought me mad but he passed, objective achieved! Think it's actually easier, more support. Only do ACFT and CFT in boots now.
