Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

7 slow miles in the drizzle. I *like* running in drizzle, strange as it may seem, and I felt I had the planet to myself. With hindsight I'm amazed I had to kick myself to get out of the door. Wonderful.

Bloody brilliant! I've got my first half marathon in 7 weeks so I wanted to prove to myself that I could keep on running for a minimum of 2hrs (I'm not built for speed!). I managed 12miles in 2hrs 2mins.

Six months ago I wouldn't have dreamt of being able to do either 12 miles or run for 2hrs. I'm so so so pleased with myself. Now I know I'm mentally prepared at least and can enjoy the rest of my training. More hill training now.

The weather helped too, cool with a constant lovely drizzle.

Really good! My longest run to date - 8.77 miles in 1 hr 25 so kept below 10 mm. Tried a gel for the 1st time. Hmmm, thought they were revolting tbh but after about 20 mins felt lots better (although not sure whether that was the gel or if i was entering some kind of 'zone'). Like Julzy, starting to feel more confident about my 1st half in oct, just got to keep to the training plan and i think i'll be OK!
