Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Had a nice steady 7.15 mile run today. And how I wish I didn't have to wait another SIX weeks before my marathon. I'm ready - bring it on.

How many 20+milers have you done FR?

I've only done one so far. The next four weekends have got days booked out for the rest!

Just about tapered out BB :-).

Just one more run really tomorrow. A bit of tempo work and then I'm carbo loading (that's my excuse anyway) and climbing the walls cos I won't be running until Sunday :-)

So yeah, fine thanks! :-)

Good stuff - get ready for the lethargic feeling when you carb load and don't run it off right away!

I've got six weeks as well. But unlike FR I don't feel ready!
I'll get there though. And I'll PB. I flipping well hope so, anyway, or my running programme over next year will have to change

Well BB, I wish you well and I'm sure you'll get there by the looks of your form.

Crikey! I wish I could run like that!

I'm seriously looking to increase my speed after this marathon. Plenty intervals and such like in v. large portions! :-)
Still going to keep up my stamina on LSRs though too. I look like getting plenty or earlies in :-)

I feel ready, but I know the next six weeks will make me even more ready. I've only done one 20 miler so far, last Sunday. I've got a 22 miler a week on Sunday and I will do a 24 miler two weeks after that.

I think the real reason that I want the race now is that the next six weeks gives me more chance of picking up accidental injuries. I can't believe that I haven't had anything other than very minor setbacks in the last 12 weeks.

Good luck with yours on Sunday, Ian,

I am going to find it difficult to fit my 18 mile run in at the weekend, can I have opinions on doing it tomorrow instead of my scheduled 8 miles steady, so far this week I have done:

Sunday - half marathon [pb] + 3 miles recovery
Monday - 5+miles race speed [RNR 3rd leg] + 5 miles ave 10.18 per mile
Tuesday- Rest day
Wednesday - 6 miles ave 11.30 per mile

Thanks
