Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

How was your run today?

i AM having a moment, armand! *grins*

i always dismissed the idea as being too impractical (being married, being a vet, mr rig wanting to get a degree, having animals, wanting to buy a house etc etc) or too expensive....but i suddenly realised its something i definitely, definitely want to do.

great idea ian - but does rely on the ability to run a marathon ;-) maybe we could be your groupies/support team! hehe

Riga,

Why not, you could just do the half marathons until you get used to it :-).

Great idea, you could train with us - actually I was talking to Heidi about running up Snowdon at some point - I'd like to do that some time :-)

Toks, you flatter me, I doubt I'm much good at giving advice and even worse at following my own. However, I have been here long enough to make a few observations and one is how fragile life is and how little time we actually have here...

Cliche I know but life isn't a dress rehearsal, therefore I don't think we should be afraid to live it. Hence the reason I want to do stuff like run up Snowdon, do marathons in the world's cities, maybe at some point do the marathon de-sables (heidi isn't keen on that one) to name a few things I'd like to do...

come to snowdon anytime - you two could run up to the top, i'll run halfway up and mr rig can follow behind with the dog! :-)

you're right life is not a dress rehearsal. its so easy to get stuck into a rut and think 'right this is my life and how its going to be from now on' because of reasons x, y and z.

*has now switched over to the travel channel ;-) *

Off to pick some blackberries now I think - about 50 yds from the house :-)

Going for a nice slow run in a bit, 5 - 6 miles I think...
