Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was baptised on Easter Sunday over thirty years' ago. It was a newly built baptistry and included a bottle of water that came from the River Jordan.

Before my church had it's own building (an FIEC church) we used an old birthing pool....

We have done Baptisms in the nearby Thames but water quality issues over the last couple of years have put an end to that 😢

We have a sort of big paddling pool they set up, with a truly hideous ruched gold lamé skirt that goes around it.

I chose to get baptised in a river at a summer church camp instead 😂

I know a man who builds "portable" baptistries for a living if anyone wants one! (Not particularly cheap, mind!)

Sad news about Pope Francis 😔

I've never been a fan of Roman Catholic dogma, but he seemed like a genuinely God seeking and Christ following man.
It's a dangerous time for such a powerful institution to be coming under new leadership, definitely a time to pray.

An update on my daughter.

She gave birth unexpectedly last night to a little boy who was early at 35 weeks.

The delivery date was due to be May 13th by C Section to tie in with her planned breast cancer treatment and surgery.

I praise The Lord that both are doing well.

Congratulations ER, to you and your daughter and family. "God's timing is perfect" sounds a bit trite, but true nonetheless.

Praying the next few months go well too.

Praise the Lord indeed, ER.
Continued prayers that she's recovers quickly and the planned treatment can go ahead, and the wee bairn gains strength every day.
