I'm happy either way, I love the site and probably woul;dn't bother to hide threads. But I'm incredulous that folk honestly think that people post in order to boost their post count . . . surely people post because they want to expres an opinion or ask a question or join in with the social side of the forum? It's made me feel quite weird to think that any post I make is being judged like that . . .

I thought it said "forum wedding" and wondered who the happy Fetchies were.

Mulbs - I think the 'let's get to a million' and 'countdown from a million' threads are possibles for pissing people off. But if stuff like that is under 'Friday' then those that don't like em can just turn Friday off.

McG - IMO, two perfect examples of threads clogging up the front page that I'd happily hide; those and the "Countdown to Christmas" thread (started when we're actually closer to the one just gone than the one coming). But as I said on the previous page if possible I'd prefer not to have to "turn Friday off", and miss out threads I may enjoy.

I only really look at my "threads you're watching" updates and "new today" threads generally, and if I'm curious about anything else then I go and find it. The "lighter" threads can actually be quite funny to dip in and out of . . . I don't see what's to gain from the suggested change but I wouldn't fight against it. I do apologise for how badly typed some of my posts are though!

I suppose - playing Devil's advocate - if you turn off Friday, it turns off 'all' of Friday so you might miss stuff you might have found interesting. So switching them off one by one would be a help - so you can tailor your likes and dislikes a bit more.
BTW I have shoved the surviving Book Club threads from Chat to Friday because Chat gets auto-culled and we've lost quite a few Book Club discussiions that way

No really bothered, the only advantage I can see for me would be able to get rid of the marathon threads.

No strong feelings, I don't think I'd use it though

I'm quite amused by the millions threads; it'll be intriguing to see how far they get, which in itself depends on the longevity of the site. I like the idea that we might still be here in 20 years time. Having a million thread party.
I can entirely see why you might want to block them, though.
Maybe putting Friday in a completely separate tab, so you never see them and everything else at the same time, would help? Or is that more hassle than it's worth?
