Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Rather than having broad categories for threads (some threads kind of overlap categories, some don't fit into any particular category, some of which are in completely the wrong category), how about a weeding button, where you could just permanently hide the threads that don't interest you.

For it? Against it? Change is not good?

I just skip over the ones that don't interest me, and probably wouldn't bother with a 'hide' option if there was one.

I block out 90% of the forum. That works

Yes please. A quarter of page 1 currently consists of pointless threads people only use to boost their postcount. It would be very useful to be able to ignore them before they clog the front page up even further.

I'm not sure I'd use it - I have the VLM & Tri threads hidden. I tend to skim the rest. I quite like the new threads at the top as they're more obvious :)

Spleen - if you switch 'Friday' off, you'll find it'll filter out a load of those already.

I think I suggested such an idea when you asked for feedback recently, so I'm all for it and it's for exactly the reasons Spleen mentions.

No I'm against. I like the idea of catching the pulse of Fetch. I've my Watched threads to keep tabs on threads I'm actively interested in.

X-post with Fetch... but then you lose the "Friday" threads that are actually entertaining.

I think I might miss threads that, once I've popped in, are actually interesting/fun/good ways to waste a few hours.
