Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Funny you should mention Jim Clark - post race we made a point of visiting his memorial at Hockenheim

Post race they opened the gates to the track so we could get up close and personal with the cars after they'd finished, including picking up some of the "marbles" which I still have on my desk at home.

On the way back we also stopped off at the Reims GP circuit which was held on public roads - amazingly the stands and pits are still in place

It was a great trip, lots of excellent memories for him and me!

That looks really cool Larks, thanks for posting the pics too. We may still do a trip. However, we don't do camping so it will be flights and hotels, hence cost. We'll see. :-) G

Driving the Reims course was fun too of course :-)

Rouen is another I've visited on a family holiday where you can drive the roads which made up the 1960s course. No stands etc there though.

I'm not normally a camper, but to be honest it really made the experience (though the absence of sleep was a worry when there was long drives either side of the weekend's fun - and I didn't have an option of my 12 year old doing some driving ;-) !)

I'd definitely look into the added "stuff" that goes on at individual venues as whilst watching all the support races, practice, quali etc is good but there's a lot of time to fill around that. Having said that HH is in a nice part of the world and we got out to the local towns in the evening and saw parts of Germany I wouldn't normally have visited.

If you’ve got Netflix, can I recommend Drive To Survive. It’s behind the scenes of the 2018 season. We’ve watched 3 episodes so far - it’s so much better than the Channel 4 coverage!

There was a programme on C4 last night call F1 Monaco GP qualifying, that my box recorded. I'm very confused as to what that could be?! :-) G

About This Thread

Thread for those who like their racing long, predictable but strangely addictive. And generally fossil fuelled.

Spoiler best practice
No quali spoilers until after (or during?) the Ch4 highlights show
No race spoilers until after (or during?) the Ch4 highlights show

Spoiler tags can be used - we're all grown ups so no need to click a Spoiler tag if we don't need to. But just make sure you type it correctly!!

So it needs to be (without the spaces, and all lowercase)
