There must be at least one other Fetchie who is a keen F1 fan - though the absence of a specific thread for such chats perhaps suggests otherwise...
I've no Sky so it's Ch4 highlights coverage only for me, so Saturdays and Sundays are tense affairs trying to avoid hearing news programmes so that the result of quali or the race isn't spoiled. Though obviously the outcome is a Mercedes 1-2 irrespective...
Monaco up next - surely there's no way Mercedes can keep up the 1-2 results through that more unpredictable race?

Ooh, watch +1!
Enjoyed teams going wheel to wheel yesterday going Hamilton and Bottas in the first lap, Leclerc and Vettel and Grosjean and Magnussen! G

I haven't got Sky either, so was the same trying to avoid hearing outcome. I watched Sat qualifying on Sunday so avoided any news or updates!
No reason why Mercedes shouldn't do well in Monaco. They've got better low speed grip. Ferrari really aren't winning anywhere.

True about the Merc. But a whole weekend for a team without hitting the barriers, someone hitting them, puncture, inappropriate safety car timing etc. Got to be more random at Monaco than anywhere else.
Personally I'm loving Ferrari's testing confidence being shattered. It's hard not to get into European national stereotypes, but brash and brazen Italian confidence done over by ruthless German engineering and problem solving sounds like it does fit the bill.
Let's make sure we keep this thread spoiler free until after Ch4 has broadcast the highlights on Sunday pm then to avoid problems!
Some very impressive driving on show yesterday - when they don't hit each other despite driving so closely like that you realise how good they really are. Even if the rest of the race was largely processional (despite Grosjean's best attempts to find a new line around T2!)

F1 will go electric soon enough. There's no reason electric racing shouldn't be just as fast (isn't the land speed record electric now?) But OMG, those "boost lanes" in Formula E, it's like bloomin Mario Kart. I know DRS is artificial, but come on!

Land speed record is Thrust SSC isn't it? Not much electricity there...
I don't think F1 will go electric in the next 10 years, but perhaps in that next decade. There was too much hoo-hah when the engines for a bit quieter a few years ago, there'd be many multiple times that outrage at the lack of noise for one thing!

Have to join this thread (nothing to do with my fetch name 😉). No Sky in this household either and I’m hating the highlights. They’re just skipping straight to the action bit e.g. accident or overtake but missing all the build up to said action. And they totally missed Hamilton’s pitstops yesterday. Yes, I know they were probably perfect but he was race leader!

The one thing that really grates about the highlights is the text which is displayed as they cut to the ad breaks which has already spoiled a couple of incidents which I've anticipated based on what has been displayed.
