Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It sounds like an accident hotspot. We were held up on there not this trip but our previous journey along there :(

It’s been a really bad summer for crashes allegedly, particularly foreign tourists.

Came over the Mam Ratagan pass there, mostly single track road with passing places, 350 metres high at the top. Pity you’ve to concentrate and I missed most of the great views.

Someone's just run into the back of Mr S in the VW Cali at some local traffic lights. The back of the van is a bit bashed in and the boot/back door is jammed shut. Insurance job, but hoping it's not too much of a hassle. Not sure if the VW chairs that sit inside are damaged.

PITA as we were hoping to get away in it for a weekend at the end of June to escape the local music festival over the road. I love live music, but not from 12noon to 11pm 3 nights in a row!

Oh that's upsetting, Scribbler :( Good that no-one was hurt but a careless accident that shouldn't have happened x

That's a damn shame, @TheScribbler I hope you're not without it too long - hopefully you can get the back door working whilst you're waiting for a full fix?

Have booked two nights at Beadnell bay over the first weekend we're away, hoping we can make the rest up as we go along

Thanks @GimmeMedals

It could have been a lot worse and even more inconvenient if we had been away in it.

Damage looks mainly to the metal boot and a scuffed bumper. Just unfortunate that the door is jammed, but we managed to clear everything out of the back by bringing the seat forward and climbing into the ‘garage’.
