Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I managed a full faceplant at parkrun today. Luckily on saturated grass so virtually no damage was done. A lethal combination of road shoes, slippery mud and running with a very enthusiastic dog.

Managed to stay on my feet despite some near suicidal descending at today's national fell relays. I deserved to fall over.

Fell over at parkrun on Saturday after tripping on a root. I should know better, I’ve run the course 49 times, doh!

Today was my first run after a month out with a calf injury (itself sustained whilst falling over - but on skis), a mile-ish run-walk round the block to test the recovery.

Pleased to report that the calf is almost fully recovered. Instead I can concentrate on the cuts and grazes to hand, knee and elbow after tripping and falling over on the pavement.

Perhaps I should just stay indoors where it's safe.

Only my third ever running fall and the second on tarmac. Tore a hole in my glove as well. :-(

I'd forgotten about this thread.
I fell over big time on Sunday morning, resulting in 2 stitches in my top lip, multiple grazes, a very sore hand and a badly bruised knee.
I have blogged about it. fetcheveryone.com/blog

Two days later, I feel as if I've been run over by a bus! Everything hurts!

It was/is. My lip has swollen up a lot too. I'm sure it will be loads better by the weekend.

Ouch. I haven’t fell over since the 3rd. It’s about time for it to happen again!

It took a while but I clipped a rock when running yesterday and went down hard on my left hand hip. To make it worse it was just after I was really careful across a really uneven bit! I skinned my right hand when breaking my fall but mostly it’s my pride hurt.
