Ignore that idiotic comment, the MG5 overseas is ICE, over here it is BEV / Hybrid.

We went from Stafford to Gatehouses of Fleet(Dumfries and Galloway over the weekend 1 stop at Gretna on the way up 1 stop just because while wife drove around 1 stop at Gretna getting home Superchargers we're 52p kw Random wife used was 82p kw At home we are saving money , journeys are not even close on value compared to the Honda but compared to my T5 no worse possibly even a little better. (View on this may change as we understand serving tyres etc.) Driving experience however is lovely. We are very relaxed on arrival and in traffic and that is invaluable. For ref - 100% charge is claimed 290 miles 80% charge is claimed around 230 miles Reality I use air-conditioning and drive at 75 ish . So 250 and 200 is more real world. Yesterday I drove to work and had time so backed down to 65mph and turned off air-conditioning as it was early and not needed, been initial predictions by 9 miles. Ps. I have Gull Wing doors |

@TheScribbler, going back to your small ICE search, @HappyTimes had a Hyundai I10 and the amount of cargo he could fit in that was startling. I think @McGoohan has the same.

Added the Gull Wing Doors to the sidebar @Gobi It needs to be noted ![]() 65 has become my default motorway driving speed in the EV - just set the cc and not stress about earlier arrival times, which in truth are very minor especially for journeys less than 2 hours. |

Yes, if on the look for a reliable excellent value small ice car that can also carry surprising amounts then 15 years of owning the same Hyundai i10 I would highly recommend. Now ended up with a Chevrolet Spark that also seems pretty economical and packs a lot in. Sorry for slight off track on EV thread. Interested to see what comes of Renault's plans to supply UK with new EV twingo at sub £17k. I remain convinced our bigger issue to deal with is the excessive size of modern vehicles, especially as there are ever more congesting our roads. |

I drive 2 very large vehicles @HappyTimes Not sure anything will change that as I carry a lot of gear. I did have a Panda for popping around in but the wife was terrified in it. |

I also require a larger car, quite hard to holiday/camp with a child, 2 adults and soon to be a large dog without the space to carry them and their associated kit. Also, I occasionally have to carry a bed, bedding and very large bag of firefighting kit around which nearly fills my Mondeo as it is.

Goober, I assume you don't camp every trip in said car though. There are individuals and sets of needs that large car is a necessity I get that ( had horses in past). Majority of us though do not need large car for vast majority of all of journeys. Those are the trips/ individuals we need to focus on changing mindsets. As Dvorak said. I have had double bed, bathroom suits, plasterboard, stacks horse feed and many many tools, couple bikes and number other things in a Hyundai i10. |

For work, I need something that can hold a not insubstantial amount of gear. In fact, tomorrow I will have a car full ![]() |

I have a 12 month old petrol 3 door MiNI (last of the ‘old’ shape) and just got a Renault 5 EV. It’s only 3.92 metres long, but compared to the MINi at 3.82m it just feels BIG! Both in physical size and internally. Maybe because you sit higher and the dash is further away. The positive to this is even though a super mini class car it feels much more comfortable and soft. Will decide if I keep both….
