Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Has anyone managed a new zone by running in a dried-out reservoir or similar?

Not that I know of, but that'd be cool.

Aside from the obviously empty reservoir, that is.

Does anyone even know of the existence of such a zone? I love going for low-tide-only zones, but this would be better still. (Apart from the circumstances enabling it, of course).

Morecambe Bay at low tide springs to mind. There are (or at least, there used to be) guided walks.

I wonder whether there are any reservoirs which are big enough to cover a whole zone? Even Windermere doesn't take up a whole zone.

Lindley wood reservoir has dried out, and it's one of the bigger ones, but it's still way too small to take up a whole zone.

Yes, you'd mad to attempt it without a guide.

Rutland Water has a nice running/cycle path all the way round though - you can get all of the zones without needing to get your feet wet, or wait for it to dry up. I assume ChrisHB was after a zone which would otherwise not be achievable.
