Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Lots of trees up by late November round our way last year, but I think that was largely covid fatigue driven and people needed the uplift. This year with energy bills I did wonder how that might affect lights and other stuff. I will be on the look out. I already know of some usual suspects.

I heard my first 'If I don't see you before, have a nice Christmas' yesterday. FFS. Utterly insanely wrong.

I said that to my pal a couple of weeks ago. It's an annual joke because we see each other at a camp in mid-Oct and then the next one we're both at is end Apr.

Sorry for being insane. And wrong ;)

Nothing yet, but the people in the next village usually go all out around this time. I shall report back :)

This evening I saw a bay window with 2 mini lit up trees in it and the side window had a lit full size tree in it. Yep, that's 3 trees in one room. Although I didn't see ant baubles, just lights.

A friend of miner's wife was battling cancer several years ago and they weren't at all sure she'd make it to December, so they decided to do Christmas in early November so she'd get at least that last one with the kids.

Very luckily, she did make it, and they've maintained the tradition of doing Christmas early since then to celebrate that she's still with them.

I don't think they go big on decorations outside their house, though.

Repotted our 2020 Christmas tree this afternoon, it lives outside and won’t be coming in for Christmas this year as we will be away.

After 28 years, our old artificial tree was ditched last year. Spent this afternoon at the local garden centre where they have a good mix or real and artificial trees. Got a few ideas as what to buy after pay day.

8th November. Earliest ever for round here.

Two trees up and decorated on our dog walk, just. Stay classy, Coventry 😝

Residential place trees not in a shop or pub or establishment….

Anyone else spotted a place of residence tree yet?
