Posted this on the wrong thread yesterday:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
20 miles. Can't say it was 'good' but it wasn't that bad. I'm aching all over now, but I do have a cold so I guess my body was working extra hard today.
I think my left knee might be sore tomorrow, feels grumbly.
Not sure if I'll fit another 20 in now or not. Maybe an 18 will be good enough. I'm not going for a time this year anyway, my training has been so full of holes that there's no point - I'm going to try my best to enjoy it instead (as much as you can enjoy 26.2 miles ...)
----------------------------------------------------
And today I actually feel pretty good, which is a relief. My groin felt tight last night, on both sides, and the front of my right ankle, but I woke up and almost jumped out of bed instead of crumpling in a heap!
What long runs are people doing from here onwards? I'm going to be really pushed to do anything much this coming weekend as it's Son1's 18th and we are pretty busy. Would I be asking for trouble to do one more 20 on Easter weekend? It's not as if my training load has been particularly heavy this year, just the long runs and a few short ones in between, so I'm not sure how much of a taper I'm going to need.

I have another 20 planned and then taper, which will be a 16 then a 10. I wouldn't do another long one after this weekend.

Yesterday's LSR was a bit of a battle for both Curly and me. But it's in the bank now...
I'm still planning two more long runs - one on Friday and one either Easter Sunday or Monday then a two week taper.

I've got 11 long runs so far and 8 over 20 miles so I'll see how I feel after Friday I think...the temptation to get to 10 x 20 + is quite strong but I suspect Maidenhead will mark the start of my taper.

Count me in Johnny - I'll bring t'husband and a friend wit me too.
Long run-wise I'll do 18 or so on Thursday evening, then a bit of a taper after that. I've been training for marathons pretty much continuously since the Summer and ran one at the end of February, so I've certainly got the miles in my legs. No point getting silly about racking up mileage at this stage, I figure it's better to be a little bit under-trained than massively over-trained

I think I can quite safely say that I'm going into this one 'a little bit under-trained' ...

I've just done a double. Trying to decide whether to do one more long run, or an extra long taper...

I've got a 20 this weekend and a 22 the next (or maybe the other way round) then a 2 week taper. I've already missed 3 weeks of training so I need those longer runs, and off the mileage I've managed I reckon 14 days should be enough.
