I feel happy about this..maybe because I have no expectations. I've been back running, post surgery since the second week in December so I'm taking it really slowly. I had a shocking miler three weeks ago, it absolutely knocked me for 6, I was run walking from mile 12...and on flat ground...and on a canal path and park...and the weather was perfect and I just bombed. I was in such a state when I finished.
The yesterday..... yesterday I had my most perfect 21 mile run ever. I love running in the rain, it makes me happy, there is somethingt about sploshing along through the puddle. I got my pace right, I got my fuel right, there was no cramp and no walk breaks.....outstanding. Please Marathon Angels, let me have two days like that for Brighton and London.
I'm going to do one more 21 miler then I shall have four under my belt and I'll feel happier.... my tapers a total of about 5 miles of running over the last two weeks before race day.

It's great to hear some good news. Well done, Max!
I've got a sore calf following a 16-miler on Sunday (came back with soaking feet and muddy). Was hoping to take part in a very hilly local half-marathon this weekend but may pull out and settle for a slightly shorter, flatter run instead. I've got Sussex, Brighton and London pencilled in (I would not be doing all three normally - just upping the ante from the one-off marathoners).
Here's to wishing you Fetchies a great Brighton Marathon. Get your videos set for Channel 4 at 7.00 am on Saturday 20 April.

I'm heading up to the Lakes this weekend, doing leg 1&2 of the BG, 26 miles and 11'000 ft of climbing, hopefully my legs still work after it!

You know all you people who run non-rounded off miles e.g. 18.33, 17.89 etc. How come's your OCD doesn't kick in and make you round it up? Or do you run to a time?
