Absolutely taper, you'll feel more confident on the day knowing your legs are rested.

Even I taper for a marathon (I've been known to do a full speed session and a 50 mile week for a half!). Its important to reduce the cumulative fatigue in the legs before the race because they will be bashed by the end of it!

The taper question was a rhetorical one btw!... I know the answer but wish I didn't!

4 weeks?! Are you sure?! 4?
Another 20 on the plan for tomorrow (hoping the weather will be kinder than today), 18 next week.
Does that give me time for a final 20? My brain is addled.

I did 20.5 miles this morning and it was hell - the wind was so strong at times that it felt like I was being blown backwards. And then having torrential rain blown at speed into my face... ouch. Stupid bloody weather

I agree with you on the weather front. Hubby, who usually isn't bothered by weather so much was saying even he felt a bit demoralised by this mornings weather. Then we started debating new places to move to with better weather...;)

Agreed on the weather. Coastal parkrun courses have their time but when it's blowing a gale off the sea it's one of them! Hopefully we won't get things too windy on 14/4.
