Small PB today... 5:17:33 from 5:20:22...earlier on I started off too quickly - oops! When the 5 hour pacer passes you at 10 miles, it's not a good sign...I had no idea where they were when I started.

Ultra Kanga Kazzaaaaah!!
Well done. Mine was only two mins but given how many years it's taken to get close to it it feels like an hour!!!

Thanks! It's taken me 3 years to better my first marathon time! Last year at VLM, horrible cramps killed me off but I did finish very slowly.

I thought you seemed quite calm about the last half mile Matt! I thought you knew something I didn't.

Well happy - aiming for 4 hours and came in 3:59:18 so a new PB
Followed the Hanson's marathon method and didn't do one long run over 17 miles, it works for me!
Next up, 3:30 I recon....

Apparently I ran right past the collapsed guy - he was right in front of Mr W and I didn't even see him. Mr W said they were trying to resuscitate him for about half an hour

That's my fifth fatality in three years. Taxi driver in Grimsby told me. Awful.

Very bad day at the office for me but I think I'll somehow come back from it. I'm down but not out. Thanks to the lovely fetchies & friends who looked after me today. My head would be in a lot worse shape without you.

Sad news about the fatality.
An okay day for me, went out far too hard, smacked into the wall at 17 miles, but was able to resume running, but not at the previous pace. Still huge pb of 3:24:17 and crossed the finish line hand n hand with Magpie
Well done to Johnny and MPH for the sub 3's, Garfield and others for the pbs. Sorry to all those who sufferred, especially Nellers and Deegee, it was quite windy for me, I was glad to have Magpie to work with over the final few miles as it was very tough! Sore legs today.
