Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

See you at the finish line, LWR! Can you believe this country doesn't have jelly babies? Got some gummy bears but not the same (not planning to carry them but for munchies right after the race). The race ends here: icelandguest.com

Unfortunately, it's at the top of a 3km climb :(

Thanks everyone! I'll let you know how I get on.

I missed this thread yesterday - hope it went well!
(my suggestion would've been to go shopping, but it's always possible that wouldn't have been the most practical :-) )

MADE IT!! So pleased! My time was 2.00.02 which is more than respectable. It is technically 21.1k and it is quite a tough course (lots of hills, including pretty much all of the last 4k). I stuck one gel in my shorts' pocket and stuck the other on an elastic band on my wrist, but after about 5k just carried it; then ate it about 8k. I had another gel around 8k and although the last few k were hard (HILLS!), I never felt that I wouldn't be able to do it.

The 10k (and marathon) are all on the same route, so I got to 11k about a minute after the 10k set off and it was a nice feeling to catch up some people on my way round. I even managed NOT to be caught by any marathon runners (who started one hour before us).

Great run! Thanks for the advice, everyone! xx

If you have any, use duct tape on the number for the tri vest so you won;t make holes.
