my Garmin 110 has been great for 2 years now but ....... it doesnt seem to hold its charge for long, and overnight the screen will go blank an I can only restart by pressing and holding the light button. As I simply cant run without my watch and I have a marathon coming up my question is - do I replaced my Garmin with another Garmin 110 or do I go for a different watch that give me the same data which can be uploaded to Fetch and if so what watch? HELPPPPPPP please

Hi Helenelle welcome to Fetch I guess it comes down to - what do you want the watch to do and how much do you want to spend? I had a 405 which was great, but I didn't use half the features so when it died I got a 110. It's a lot cheaper and does just what I need. I have noticed that it's not holding its charge as well now though

Try ringing Garmin. Their customer service is pretty good, although out of warranty now they usually offer a reconditioned model for much less than new.
I prefer my 305 to my 110, but not sure they're still available.

Why can't you upload the data from your 110 to fetch. I have a forerunner 10 which creates fit files and I just use the fit file upload but it must be possible to do it automatically as other running do. In retrospect I wish I'd bought the garmin 210 as that as an HRM as well as doing intervals. I also found out that the Garmin 610 also has vibration alerts which would be a really useful feature as I often listen to music that matches my cadence

"205 - GPS, calories, virtual training partner, view up to 4 fields at once (eg time, pace, distance). Huge. Connects to computer via USB 305 - all of the above plus HRM 310xt - slightly smaller than the 305, fully waterproof, keeps signal better, really good battery life, wireless data transfer. Otherwise the same as the 305. 405 and 405CX - (CX has soft adjustable strap). Looks a bit more like a normal watch. Wireless transfer. Short battery life and you can't turn it off, but you must turn the GPS off or it'll die on you really quickly. Bezel is difficult to operate. HRM options. 3 data fields viewable at once. Does Virtual partner etc etc. 110 - has HRM option. Looks like a 1980s digital watch. 3 fields viewable at once. No virtual partner or wireless transfer. Buttons rather than bezel. USB cable connection. Basically does almost everything the 205 or 305 does but is less bulky. Don't know about the battery life on this one."

that's a pretty good summary. still think the 205 and305 are the best value and do most of what most runners want. I can never really get away with the small screens and rubbish battery life on tim real-watch look one's.

I've a 210, (I think that must be the 110 with the HRM?) It's a bit quirky in that it doesn't always switch off when I tell it to and now at 18 months old its battery seems to run down fairly fast (but ok for me, I never do longer than 13 miles!) I don't use the HRM after I started getting really weird readings and decided it couldn't possibly be my heart (at least I hope it isn't). The buttons are a bit small and fiddly, and now that the puppy has chewed on of them off completely I need to keep my nalis long enough to be able to operate it.
Basically, it's fine, I'm used to it, but I wouldn't be surprised if other options are better.

Welcome to Fetch Helenelle. For completeness, add to SpeedyGoth's excellent summary the 910xt - newer version of 310xt for those that can afford it. A bit sleeker and faster to grab the satellites but doesn't really do anything the 310xt can't. I have had my 310xt for about 4 years and still v happy with it. If you can stand the orangeness.
