Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Family out for a cycle ride this morning. Daddy has a child behind him on a tag-along, Mummy has a toddler in a seat behind her. Both kiddies are wearing helmets. Why the f*** aren't the parents wearing helmets too?!?!

Runners who drop litter. They make me so angry I could scream.
Yesterday's rural race course was filled with gel wrappers and the little bits that come off the top when you open them.
The bad excuse of 'nowhere to put the empties' doesn't wash with me. If you choose to take gels or whatever with you then you need to give some thought to how to carry the wrappers.

When training, my sports drink bottle goes in the first bin I find or I take it home. At the 10k race I organise, runners are instructed to hold onto any litter until they pass a marshal at each km marker. It doesn't take much but some people/runners don't think like that.

Cyclists are worse than runners for dropping litter on the move, and they've got even less excuse because cycle jerseys have big pockets.

I think car drivers are the worst for litter. However if you look closely at litter it seems to be takeaway food, sweet wrappers and cans of drink.

I quite like the idea of limiting fast food places and making if more difficult for the fatties to get their fatty sugary food. I do not know how you would enforce it.

TRO everyone produces the odd floater.
