Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

HOD, when you run, who looks after your child? (I do know the answer to this question, but think about it from the position of the single parent, or the the point of the parent that does most of the caring and child minding and planning and preparing and cleaning etc...)

This blog managed to make me feel like a lazy arse healthlifestylefun.com

I guess if you have children and want to continue to run you need either a very supportive partner, friends, or enough money to pay for childcare.

OK, HOD, think of it this way: if you go out to work and your partner stays at home and raises the child, or perhaps your partner does the lion's share of the household work, the child rearing and also works, wouldn't it be fair to that partner to get some time in the evening to do what they want? Perhaps this is why other dads are saying this to you...

Toilet seats that pretend they are going to stay up, until you have a good unstoppable flow going, then fall.....
+1 if you're wearing light trousers

Ooh this has become a debate thread. You either have results or you have excuses.

A single parent is definitely going to find it more difficult to find time to excericse compared to say a 20 year old living at home with the parents.

It's all down to how important exercise is to you and what you are prepared to sacrifice for it.

I work 40 hours a week no kids and run for maybe 5 hours a week. My wife works very hard full time and loves the sofa of an evening.

F ing Fleecy
I used to do all the domestic stuff and all the childcare and Mr fleecy was never home before 7 and out a minimum of couple of times a week and refused to do bedtimes even when he wasn't, and required dinner when he got home. That's why I used to stick the kids in the crèche so I could exercise, it was the only way I could do it. Plus I used to go out Saturday morning even though he bitched about being stuck with the kids. I needed the time off and the exercise for my mental health as much as anything when they were little...Yes, you do have to sacrifice stuff in order to exercise when your kids are little, or pay someone to look after them, but it's cheaper than therapy. If I'd been a runner when they were small I'd have had a running buggy.

However children are not tiny for long, and when they started doing their own activities I'd go and exercise while they did that. Sometimes you need to think creatively to get stuff done when you have kids...

The over use of stats in football. Should Mourinho be sacked? Let's look at Chelsea's vital statistics number of km's covered and number of sprints? Come on! Just because some maths geek got you the numbers, doesn't mean you have to use them.

The stats usually show that forwards are the laziest players on the pitch yet they hit the target once in 90 minutes and somehow become man of the match.
