Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

People who say I don't have time to run I have children .

Well when they go to bed you can't then or before you work etc etc.

(Before you say anything I have children 😉)

I used to stick mine in the crèche at the gym or go at lunchtime when I worked, it is difficult but not insoluble...

I went to club last night for the first time in ages. A newish member had brought her child along - about four years old. She sat at the side of the tennis court during the warm up, cycled her little pink bicycle at the back of the warmup (one mile ending at the seafront although they may have taken a shortcut) and then sat on the pavement under a street light while the session went on (loops).

I suppose there's a school of thought that says children don't need to be a barrier to things and learning how to sit quietly during parental activities is good for them.
I felt quite uncomfortable with it though.

Jono.
I think *people* use children, among others, to say that they can't find time to do anything. mind you you can be with your kids a lot, then ignore them by being glued to your phone and updating your facebook / twitter / instagram / any other bollocks thing

It depends on the kid, Carp. My ds1 would have been very happy to do that at 4 but ds2 would have hated it and kicked up a stink.

Jono: that's my view, as well. Lack of time is the main reason cited for not exercising, yet the average person watches several hours TV every night, people's choices are neither consistent nor rational :)
