Pre-ticked boxes on websites. Fuck off, I don't want to have to waste twenty minutes hunting for them so I can untick them. If I want to be inundated with shoddily-written e-newsletters, invitatio when ns to 'sale events', details from carefully selected third parties, special wrapping, sneaky charity donations or Amazon fucking Prime I will select it myself.
(I have just forced Amazon to refund me the £79 they took from my debit card in December because I failed to notice the pre-ticked box saying I wanted a 30-day free trial of Prime when I ordered something in November, and didn't notice, so of course I couldn't cancel it before the annual cost was taken automatically. How the fuck is that even legal?)

Amazon are horrible muthafuckers. I cancelled my account years ago. I had to take them to advertising standards as they didn't want to cancel my account and kept bombarding me with emails, even after lots of emails from me and an actual letter. Bordering on harrassment.

I got a letter today from Amazon telling me I was eligible for Amazon Prime and it had some pointless plastic card attached. They must be getting desperate with all the people getting refunds for Prime memberships they were duped into getting.

I got one today as well. Wife and son were fiddling with my Amazon details a few weeks ago, so I reckon it's them.
There is a footnote that says a 'paid subscription of £79 per year starts automatically after free trial unless cancelled. I'm going online now to make sure it's cancelled.

Amazon prime card arrived here this morning too. I have a nifty punch-thing that converts them into guitar picks - very satisfying!

I got one today as well - it's with the one they sent me a couple of months ago waiting to be shredded...

Got one here as well, letter has gone on the fire, the card got shredded. Also incidental background music on TV shows. It drives me nuts watching a programme and bloody awful music is played in the background far too loud and totally distracting from what's happening. Please make it stop.

After what Carpathius said, I've tried to cancel the free trial online following Amazon's instructions. All it said was that I did not have Amazon Prime, yet there the option to make the post-free trial cancellation was not there. I have e-mailed them to cancel the trial and ensure that no £79 fee is collected (still awaiting a reply). I'll keep you informed as to how I get on.
