Driving along the A50 near Derby this evening. It's a trunk dual carriageway. Two lanes each side with continuous white line on left of inside lane and right of outside lane and 18 inches of tarmac outside those lines before the verge. With traffic going down the outside lane at 70+ there was a cyclist, large bag over his shoulder, cycling down the 18 inch strip beteeen the outside lane and central reservation...
