Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There is a Welsh one, as I'm sure you know, and most of the E coast of Scotland seems to be OK or in progress.

Discovering that the tub of soup I bought for lunch had a split in it by the time I got it home from the shops - grrrr!

This. At the end of a working day. 15 minutes later it locked and wouldn't restart.

Tomorrow is another day...

Because I rarely use it, my bike “Big” light spends more time on charge than illuminated because I suspect the voltage monitoring circuit is always active and drains the battery.

And when it gets to 100% sometimes it just sits there, still doing *something *.

For some reason at the start of the day, my work laptop waits until I've opened all the software, programs, Outlook and documents I need before telling me that I need to restart it for the updates. Now, do I close everything down and restart it again or wait until the end of the day and go through the same issues as 3M?

Surrey Phil, that's what lunchtimes are for! (If you think about it, that is!)

I don't know what a lunchbreak is anymore! We're supposed to have a minimum of 30 minutes although mine tend to be to grab a sandwich and keep going.

Regarding the computer restarts, I recently restarted it first thing in the morning and got another request mid-afternoon; i.e. two restarts in one day.

We don't get an option on the restarts, we get a pop-up saying your PC will start in 15, 14:59, 14:58....So its save and close everything down then go and make a cup of tea/coffee.

The owners of the house next door (not permanent residents here) have given the house over to their friends for the weekend. No problem with that, except that this bunch are the ones with a dog who barks non-stop when they leave it alone in the house. It's now been barking for two and a half hours. I feel sorry for the dog but very cross with the dog owners who are well aware that their dog does this, as they've sheepishly referred to it on previous visits.
