"It was lovely but too much," or "I don't eat such and such." Just fed up filling up the food caddy when I could have saved quite a bit on my grocery bill.

We had others yesterday and it wasn't too dissimilar. A fortnight back both guests left a fair chunk of food. My wife's cooking is excellent, so no-one can say that it wasn't prepared right nor that it was too much. I hate food wastage at the best of times. If I went round someone's house and they gave me fish (which isn't something I enjoy), I'd eat it regardless and clean my plate out of courtesy and appreciation for my host. I consider not eating what your host gives you is really bad manners.
