I went away for three nights last week and was just checking in to the hotel when I got a text of a parcel sitting on my doorstep in the rain. Fortunately I was able to get a neighbour to rescue it, but still it was annoying and stressful.

My armchair that I ordered online and which was delivered on 29th November still cannot be built because the company sent two identical arms rather than opposite arms and when they arranged to swap they sent seat cushions instead of an arm. I’m waiting to hear when the next attempt to deliver the right thing might be.
It’s all so very well being apologetic but MAKE IT RIGHT!

dear supermarket - not only have prices increased quite a bit but you also seem to have removed a lot of your cheaper own brand options at the same time

Meeting a friend who wants to go for a long walk around london when I’m carrying a heavy bag in my shoulder. I didn’t say anything because it was his first time he’s been out since his twins were born. But I could have done with sitting down somewhere!

Christmas cards. They're not cheap, especially with the postage and take ages to write them all. In a few weeks' time, the receiver will be putting them out in the recycling bin anyway.
Then, you have the ones you receive. First, I have only one L in my name and not two (I even have some relations that do it). My wife and son also get theirs spelled wrong at times. Thankfully, my daughter's is only four letters!
Second, is the round robin letters enclosed. A picture and a note to say how you've been is fine with me. I don't want to be wound up with obnoxious ones that clearly have the "we're better than you" tone. Such as we've retired, went on a two week cruise, won the lottery, children are in high-flying jobs, etc.
Third, is the cards you don't get. If you can't be bothered or just tight-fisted, please tell me and save me the effort in sending yours. If a charity donation is being made in lieu of a card, then all the better - please tell me in October or November.

The scripting and acting in the Verisure alarm adverts. If it was possible to die from cringing, then I would be as dead as my cold heart

Mr Carp was watching Clash of the Titans the other day. I caught some of it.
Blows Verisure ads out of the water.

People smoking in the street and the air quality in London in general. Really suffering with my throat and lungs today.

Agree stilldreaming. I don’t mind about the hour plus delay, but why then spend the delayed news reshowing the same footage that triggered the delay. And strikes and polar bears. No other news today?
