Typical conversation between them (in the garden): him: want a cuppa? her: eh? him: want a cuppa? her: yes please. And some biscuits. him: eh? her: biscuits him: ok. what time is [son] coming over? her: eh? him: what time is son coming over? her: 7 him: eh? her: 7. he's bringing his new girlfriend tonight. him: where'd he meet her? her: eh? him... ...you get the idea. And it's always "eh?" with both of them. DRIVES ME MAD!! even when they're inside the house our walls are so thin that, although I can't hear the specifics of each conversation, I can always make out the "eh?" bit.
