Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Shit endings, watched Dan Browns The Lost Symbol. Was enjoying it right up till near the end and then left very disappointed.

Perfume adverts. I’m completely baffled and confused by them!

+1 for perfume ads. There's an especially baffling one with some woman wailing about living in cities - has us diving for the mute button. We keep forgetting what it's advertising.

Another + for perfume ads - did anyone ever buy a bottle of perfume because of an ad?

What would you do for….?

I don't understand perfume ads either. I assume I'm not their target audience, though if I'm not, as a woman who could afford to splash out on perfume if I chose to [instead of spending my perfume budget on trainers and bike parts] I wonder who is.

Perfume has to be one of the products absolutely least suited for advertising via an audiovisual medium.

I quite like some perfume ads, though, *because* of their ridiculousness. They're like mini attempts at cinematic art.
And they often remind me of the old intro to A Bit Of Fry And Laurie.

I used to like the Egoist one with all the people at the windows. It was so bad it was good. The start of the Johnny Depp one always reminds me of a Moneysupermarket . com ad, I think the music is similar.
