She can often be heard saying "with a Bee!" ... and then if it's in person, you can see the cogs turning as they think "how on earth do you spell 'Patterson' with a B?!". Mind you, she's had to put up with this for half of her life (previous married name, and which she doesn't wish to change for professional reasons). I, however, found myself in a situation recently having to explain that my other half had made the booking and since the deaf receptionist was also behind a clear plastic sheet protecting her from covid, my attempts to pronounce a "B" resulted in her stating three times, "I'm sorry, no 'Patterson' bookings here" until I thrust my phone through the tiny gap and under her nose with a rather indignant "LOOK!" as I showed her the booking confirmation for "BATTISON" ... cue the apologies (from both sides)
