We had a new guy called Tom who is kept getting wrong, so I started calling him Tim. He gets it right now.

There's a few reasons I introduced myself as Rae, and a major one is that I cannot stand being called Rach. (obviously I don't have a problem with other people being called Rach if they like it, but it's emphatically not my name).

If I have not introduced myself as Alison (which I won't have, because it isn't my name) what gives people the right to assume what my full name is and call me that instead of what I have said I'm called, or my actual full name which is on my staff badge and in my email address. Even my "Hello, my name is" badge says Ali.
