Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yesterday morning, someone knocked on the door to remind me it was polling day and asking if I was planning to vote. Then asked when I was going "morning, afternoon or evening? So I don't have to come back".

I don't need to tell you, and you do not need to come back to fucking nag me.

[Bloody hell, you actually got some form of canvassing? Aside from the mayoral booklet sent the other week, I had no idea what other election was going on as not a soul had made the effort.]

[Doorsteppy stuff very curtailed by Covid, as I understand it. Shame, I was looking forward to telling some of the candidates why they were not getting my vote!]

[Would've been nice if they could have pushed a leaflet through. As such, I refused to give the Labour incumbents my vote, knowing that they will win overwhelmingly either way]

[Oh we got leaflets, plus a hefty tome explaining the London Assembly, pitches from the main parties (the ones that could afford the pitching fee anyway...), instructions for the three different ballot papers, etc.]

[Hmmph. Feeling very abandoned, then! Luckily, I managed to find some details after a bit of an Internet dig - took more than it should have, though!]

At 10:40 my wife asked a friend if she (wife) needed to do xyz this week.

The reply was, yes, I'd like you to do it at 11:15.

Colour inkjet printers.

It's a faff to move the printer to change the one ink that has run out, only to have do do it again a few days later because another cartridge has run out...

One of the candidates for the post of PCC was found to have bent the rules so debarred from taking up the post if he won. He did - so now the election has to be re run. What a waste of money, time and effort all round.
