Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[They're running lights. My car has them, and also auto headlights, which come on with darkness. I can choose to turn auto headlights off & my running lights would still be on...I guess that's what they've done.]

When visibility is bad, your vehicle would be too dim at the back and too bright at the front, you should switch to sidelights at least, these punters are getting it wrong all round]

[I think some people see their front running lights are on and don't realise they have no rear lights switched on. It might be that the auto setting is either not switched on, or isn't at all sensitive to driving in dark conditions in heavy rain]

My mum didn't realise that running lights were on the front only until someone followed her home and told her. Luckily my car's old enough that it doesn't have any lights unless I turn them on so I know where I am.

[I did similar when I was getting used to the car. It’s dark, turn engine on, see lights shining on the wall I’m parked facing, head off forgetting I need to turn the lights on]

[I'm enough of a control freak not to want to use the auto position, but turn my normal lights on and off by myself. ]
